Radar — Military Bunker Complex
The Radar station is a Border Zone map centered around an abandoned military installation with underground bunkers, field shelters, and high-value military crates. Guard density is extreme, but the loot tables — particularly armor plate spawns in bunker lockers — make this a critical target for players building toward Vostok incursions.

Zone Overview
The Radar station is a sprawling military installation featuring above-ground radar equipment, underground bunker complexes, and field shelter networks. Unlike the Minefield's open explosive terrain, the Radar offers more architectural complexity — multiple floors, interior rooms, and enclosed underground sections.
Guard presence is extremely high throughout the installation. The combination of enclosed spaces and hostile density makes this one of the most dangerous Border Zone maps. However, the bunker locker locations serve as the primary spawn point for Level III and IV armor plates — items so rare that most players never see them outside of Vostok raids.
Underground Bunker System
The Radar's defining feature is its network of underground military bunkers. These concrete structures provide cover from outdoor Guard patrols but contain their own interior hostile presence. The bunkers house the highest-value containers in the Border Zone.
Bunker Entrance Types
- • Vertical ladder drops (most common)
- • Ramped vehicle bay entrances
- • Blast-door sealed chambers (require key or force)
- • Surface-connected ventilation shafts
Interior Hazards
- • Guards posted at chokepoints
- • Low-light conditions (flashlight recommended)
- • Narrow corridors with limited maneuvering
- • Acoustic echo amplifies footsteps
Guard Patrol Analysis
Guards at the Radar station are the same paramilitary Border Zone force found at the Minefield. They maintain strict defensive positions around the installation's strategic infrastructure. Their advanced squad tactics and overhead air support capability make extended outdoor engagements particularly dangerous.
Outdoor Patrols
Roaming pairs with overlapping coverage. Communicate via radio. Engaging one alerts the pair immediately.
Bunker Posts
Stationary Guards at bunker entrances and interior chokepoints. Clear these before descending — ambush potential is high.
Radar Equipment
Elevated radar arrays provide long-range observation. Sniper positions here have full zone coverage.
High-Value Loot Locations
| Location | Item Type | Risk Level |
|---|---|---|
| Bunker Lockers | Armor Plates (Level III, IV) | Extreme |
| Military Crates | AK-12, optics, attachments | Extreme |
| Field Shelters | Meds, supplies, tools | High |
| Radar Array Equipment | Optics, Kobra sights, attachments | Extreme |
| Guard Corpses | RK-95 (~700€), equipment | Extreme |
Radar Survival Strategy
Priority: Armor Plates
The primary reason to raid Radar is bunker locker armor plates. Level III and IV plates are required to survive Vostok Military ballistics. Without armor plates, a single rifle round will penetrate your carrier.
Indoor Approach
Bunkers provide cover from outdoor patrols. Enter via vehicle bay ramps when available — vertical ladder drops put you at the bottom of a chokepoint with limited escape routes.
Flashlight Management
Bunker interiors are dark. A flashlight is essential for container searching but betrays your position. Use briefly, then extinguish. Listen for Guard response after each use.
Optics Priority
The Radar array equipment contains optics (Kobra, Leopard LPVO) at higher rates than other Border Zone locations. These are critical for Vostok engagement range optimization.
